Gem from the 1970s
I first read this little gem many years ago, shortly after various circumstances curtailed my own studies to become a missionary priest. I recommended the book to the members of my book club, and am pleased to find that it has lost none of its charm over the years. It is the tale of an Anglican priest who becomes part of an Indian tribe in Canada, and is full of gentle wisdom. Mark is no bible bashing padre, but rather a patient and people loving minister, who endears himself to the members of the tribe. If ever I did become a missionary, I hope I could have shared some of his peace and other qualities.
